In the capital, plans are to cut down up to a thousand old trees - 'Bishkekzelenhoz'
In Bishkek, there are plans to remove at least 800 old trees this year. This was reported by the chief agronomist of the municipal enterprise "Bishkekzelenhoz," Zhanibek Jumaliev, on the air of Radio Sputnik Kyrgyzstan.

According to Jumaliev, the felling of 800 to 1,000 old trees is planned for 2026.

Primarily, poplars and black locusts will be cut down. "Old trees will be removed from 50 streets, but at the same time, 17,000 new saplings will be planted. The city hall is purchasing 50,000 saplings that will be adapted to the climatic conditions of the region in nurseries and planted in 2027," he added.
