The streaming platform Netflix announced its decision not to raise its offer to acquire Warner Bros., thereby leaving Paramount Skydance the opportunity to purchase the company at a price of $31 per share, according to BBC News.

Warner Bros. is renowned for its extensive archive of Hollywood films, spanning nearly 100 years, as well as the popular streaming service HBO.

According to the terms of the deal with Netflix, which now appears to be canceled, the company was supposed to exclude broadcast channels from its portfolio, including the news channel CNN.

Paramount Skydance is controlled by the Ellison family, which has close ties to Donald Trump.
