Talant Mamytov, who heads the "Yntymak-Mekenchil" parliamentary faction in the Jogorku Kenesh, confirmed in an interview with the "Azattyk" publication that he received a petition from a group of 75 citizens calling for early presidential elections. This letter has already been registered in parliament and sent to the relevant committee for review.

He noted: "75 citizens of Kyrgyzstan, many of whom are elders, have requested elections. The letter was registered, and by the resolution of the speaker (Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu), it was forwarded to the chairman of the relevant committee for further study. We cannot predict what the outcome will be, but after the Constitutional Court's decision, certain individuals received a response in accordance with its findings," added Mamytov.

Recall that on February 9, it became known that 75 people sent an open appeal to President Sadyr Japarov and Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu demanding early presidential elections in the country. In response, President Japarov dismissed Kamchybek Tashiev from the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), and also initiated the reorganization of the GKNB. Following Tashiev's departure, several high-ranking officials from his circle were dismissed. As a result of the scandal, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu also resigned and left his deputy position.

President Japarov stated that Tashiev claimed he had not met with the signatories of the appeal. Nevertheless, the president emphasized that Tashiev would no longer hold any government position.

The Constitutional Court, having reviewed Sadyr Japarov's request, clarified that presidential elections should be held in accordance with the legally established timelines - in January 2027.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated, and several signatories of the "letter of 75" have found themselves in pre-trial detention, facing charges of organizing mass riots in Kyrgyzstan.
