The father of silver medalist from the Paris Olympics, Munarbek Seyitbek uulu, has passed away.

In Osh, on February 26, at the age of 67, Seyitbek Toktosunov passed away, the father of Munarbek Seyitbek uulu, who became a silver medalist at the Olympic Games. This information was confirmed by the territorial administration of Manas-Ata.

Currently, the cause of Seyitbek's death is unknown. Farewell and funeral services will be held in Osh.

Munarbek Seyitbek uulu won silver at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris and also became a bronze medalist at the 2023 World Championship.

The athlete was born in Osh and began boxing at the age of eight. He completed his education at the Faculty of Physical Education of Osh State University.

Since 2017, Munarbek has represented the national team. In 2018, he became the national champion, and in 2019, the vice-champion.

In 2023, at the World Championship in Tashkent, he won a bronze medal, becoming one of the first medalists in world championships in the history of independent Kyrgyzstan.

At the Paris Olympics in 2024, competing in the weight category up to 57 kg, Munarbek reached the finals, where he lost in a tense battle to the Uzbek Abdumalik Halokov.

The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, noted the athlete's achievements, presenting him with a cash prize and a car.
