The city administration calls on both local residents and visitors to pay careful attention to traffic rules, which in turn will help create a culture of mutual respect and order on the streets.
With the onset of the warm season, the use of personal mobility devices (PMDs), such as electric scooters and bicycles, is increasing in Bishkek, as well as the activity of short-term rental services.
In this regard, a meeting was held at the city hall under the leadership of Ilyas Kolopov with participants from car-sharing companies that provide electric scooter rental services in the city.
The necessity of aligning their activities with current legislation was discussed, as well as ensuring order in the use of electric scooters in an urban environment.
During the meeting, participants were given recommendations to enhance control over users, including the possibility of imposing sanctions on those who violate traffic rules. The importance of implementing effective accountability mechanisms was particularly emphasized, including temporary or complete restrictions on access to electric scooter rentals through mobile applications for violators.
