According to information presented at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, there are 1200 fathers in Kyrgyzstan who do not fulfill their alimony obligations. Deputy Attorney General Umutkan Konkubayeva reported this fact, emphasizing that in 2025, 60,000 enforcement orders for alimony collection were registered.
Deputy Yrysbek Atazhanov pointed out that this number corresponds to the number of divorces in the country.
“The figures are indeed impressive. We need to develop more effective mechanisms regarding divorces to avoid such situations. A man who does not care for his children should not be respected, and we must tighten the penalties,” he stated.
