The deputy reported: "After the recent political events, many people have approached me with complaints. They mention intimidation during elections, the seizure of property that should go to the state treasury, but in reality, it ends up being used privately. You know what I’m talking about."
As an example, Surabaldiyeva cited the case of the mother of the former mayor of Tokmok, whose name is associated with a criminal case involving the embezzlement of 1 billion soms. The woman expressed concern that her son is not being given the opportunity to defend himself and has no access to information about the progress of the case. She also mentioned that a staff member of the secretariat was sentenced to 12 years, while those who "stole billions" walk free, offering bribes.
Surabaldiyeva noted that she does not have a clear answer to such questions. She asked Deputy Attorney General Umutkan Konkubaeva if there is any information regarding this case. "Were the funds really embezzled?" she inquired, adding that these are the words of a mother who has succumbed to emotions, but the situation raises many questions.
Konkubaeva responded that information on this case would be provided to her in writing, taking into account the confidentiality of the investigation.
Surabaldiyeva also inquired whether a political thaw is expected and whether any decisions would be reviewed. In response, Konkubaeva stated that a review is only possible upon the request of an interested party or in the presence of new circumstances, emphasizing that not all cases are subject to review.
Surabaldiyeva clarified that she is referring to high-profile and unjust cases, and if a petition is submitted, the case will be reviewed. "It is necessary to appeal to the General Prosecutor's Office, which will take control of the situation," she added.
