According to him, the second driver may have connections with influential figures.
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Seidbek Atambaev raised the issue of a possible attempt to conceal the fact of a traffic violation by a participant in a recent accident.
A resident of the Alamudun district, Burul Ibraimova, appealed to the deputy asking him to closely monitor the investigation of the incident that occurred on February 23. She pointed out signs of pressure from high-ranking individuals and the possibility of evidence being concealed.
The deputy reported that the collision occurred at the intersection of 7 Aprelya and Ablesov streets. Ibraimova's daughter, driving a Honda Fit, was entering the highway at a speed of about 40 km/h when a Lexus, driven by an 18-year-old girl, crashed into her at high speed.
According to Atambaev, the traffic police officers who arrived at the scene did not call an ambulance, despite the fact that the victim had sustained a head injury and was suffering from severe bleeding. Relatives called for an ambulance, which arrived only 2.5 hours after the accident. After examination, the medics hospitalized the victim, who now requires serious treatment.
According to the deputy, the mother of the injured party reported that police officers and relatives of the second participant in the accident were pressuring them, urging them not to document the incident.
It is also noted that there are cameras from the "Safe City" system and hardware-software complexes installed in that area of the road. However, the public safety point in the Alamudun district stated that the cameras allegedly were not functioning at the time of the accident. The injured party believes this may indicate an attempt to conceal the fact of speeding.
According to information, the second participant in the accident is the sister of the akim of the Alamudun district, and their father is a sitting deputy of the Bishkek city kenesh.
“Considering these connections, it can be assumed that the investigation may be biased. The victim works as a personal assistant for a child with disabilities. Her family insists on the need for an objective investigation of the situation at the intersection and demands to determine the degree of guilt of the second driver, as the alleged speeding in the populated area led to severe consequences,” concluded the deputy.
