OSAGO. Since the beginning of 2026, State Insurance has paid citizens more than 33 million soms.

As of January 1, 2026, more than 33 million soms have been paid by the State Insurance Organization to 325 citizens under OSAGO policies. This was reported on "Birinchi Radio" by Aktan Turumbekov, the director of the insurance and reinsurance department of the joint-stock company.

He also noted that in 2024, 48 motorists received payouts totaling 4.3 million soms, while in 2025, 901 cases were settled for a total of 86.5 million soms.
In 2024, the State Insurance issued about 74,000 OSAGO policies, and in 2025, this number exceeded 350,000.
According to Turumbekov, starting from 2026, the number of issued policies reached over 18,000, indicating a growing interest among citizens in this type of insurance. "Although some obtain policies merely to comply with the law, many do so consciously to protect themselves in case of trouble," he added.

In Kyrgyzstan, there are over 1.7 million registered vehicles, and more than half of them have OSAGO policies.

OSAGO is mandatory insurance for vehicle owners' liability, which covers damage caused to third parties as a result of traffic accidents.

As of July 1, 2025, fines for the absence of OSAGO policies came into effect: for individuals, the fine is 3,000 soms, and for legal entities, it is 13,000 soms.
