He calls on the Ministry of Education and the Cabinet of Ministers to reconsider the requirements for school clothing
Deputy Dastan Bekeshev expressed his concern about the discomfort of school uniforms during a session of the Jogorku Kenesh. In his opinion, although the uniform generally looks acceptable, it is uncomfortable for children.
“I receive numerous complaints from various regions. Students from the Issyk-Kul, Osh, and Batken regions report that the uniform is uncomfortable. It is cold in winter, and in summer it is unbearable,” Bekeshev said.
In this regard, the deputy proposed that the Ministry of Education and the Cabinet soften the requirements for school uniforms, allowing students to wear t-shirts and jeans.
“Why do girls need to wear skirts? Who established this rule? This is clearly a legacy of the Soviet era. However, if we look at the Chinese model, we can see that children there prefer sportswear, as studies show it is more beneficial for health. I am not suggesting a complete transition to sports uniforms, but at least allow children to dress in a smart casual style,” he noted.
Additionally, Bekeshev asked the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh to reconsider the dress code for deputies.
