"My Mother's Bread": Residents of Ala-Buka Supported Soldiers with Homemade Pastries
Gulnaz noted that this event was held for the 15th time and has become a good tradition. "Every year, before Defender of the Fatherland Day, we organize the 'My Mom's Bread' [‘Апамдын наны’] campaign. More than 50 women from the district council participate in its preparation. On this day, mothers make dough, bake bread and boorsoks, and prepare various homemade dishes for the soldiers. Some of them bring clarified butter and kurut made in their kitchens. This event helps the soldiers guarding our country's borders feel the warmth of home. Additionally, as part of the event, the women prepared a concert program for the military personnel," she said.
There are five border outposts, one detachment, and a military unit of the Ministry of Defense located in the Ala-Buka area.
