Draft agreement on combating illegal content sent to EAEU countries
The draft document with agreed methods for combating violations of intellectual property rights has been sent to the EAEU countries for the implementation of internal procedures prior to its signing.
According to the agreement, measures will be implemented to protect rights to intellectual property objects on the internet. In particular, it provides for judicial restrictions on access to illegal content, as well as the establishment of obligations for owners of internet resources to restrict access to such content based on court decisions. Additionally, the creation of an electronic registry to account for resources whose access has been restricted is planned.
The Minister of Economic and Financial Policy of the EEC, Bakhyt Sultanov, emphasized that all EAEU countries have completed the internal coordination of the draft, indicating the document's readiness for signing.
