On February 24, the Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, conducted an on-site inspection of the capital's infrastructure together with the heads of city services.
The first stop was the area around the under-construction "Bishkek Arena" stadium. The city head instructed the responsible services to begin preparatory work for the reconstruction of access roads and the installation of necessary engineering communications. It is important that the Lenin District Administration, the Department of Transport, the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkekasphaltservice," and the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkekvodokanal" work in coordination.
Then the mayor discussed with the residents of the Oktobrskiy District issues related to the construction of a section of Akhunbaev Street, which will stretch from Auezov Street to the Eastern Bypass Road. During the meeting, he expressed dissatisfaction with the changes that the contractor made to the project twice without coordination, which caused discontent among local residents.
Aibek Junushaliev emphasized the unacceptability of such actions, noting that any project must go through the established approval procedure and be communicated to the customer; only after that can work begin.
"It is necessary to strictly adhere to the principles of fairness and carry out work within the framework of the legislation," the mayor added.
He also proposed a solution that takes into account the interests of all parties, including the State Enterprise "Unaa," residents, and city authorities. The contractor has been instructed to prepare a new road construction project in the shortest possible time, in cooperation with the State Enterprise "Unaa" and the Bishkek Main Directorate for Urban Development.
In addition, the mayor met with residents of the Sverdlovsk District living on Abdykadyrov, Kirpichnaya, Drevesnaya, Torfyanaya, and Suvorov Streets. The issues raised by the citizens concerned water supply, sewage, road conditions, and the construction of a children's playground. The city head stated that this year work is planned for laying water supply and sewage networks, after which road work will begin.
"We will act strictly in accordance with the norms. First communications, then roads," he noted.
The Bishkek Main Directorate for Urban Development and Architecture has been instructed to develop a project for a children's playground with a workout area, fencing, and lighting.
The mayor also initiated the creation of a commission to comprehensively address issues of improving the area near the river, instructing to work with the Ministry of Emergency Situations on safety issues, including the creation of a fire access road and cleaning the riverbed. The Municipal Enterprise "Bishkekzelenstroy" must inspect green spaces, remove hazardous trees, and preserve healthy ones. The municipal inspection has been instructed to take action against violators for illegal tree cutting and unauthorized waste dumping, while the land use control department is to review cases of illegal structures. The Department of Transport must assess the possibility of organizing internal passage and constructing a bridge over the river.
Following the inspection, Aibek Junushaliev instructed city services to thoroughly address issues related to road construction, engineering communications, and area improvement, and the Sverdlovsk District Administration to ensure coordination and timely completion of all works.
