Samad Erkinbekov has been appointed the new director of the Directorate for Non-Olympic Sports, which operates under the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the introduction of the new leader to the team, Kubanych Ermekov, head of the department for analysis and development of high-performance sports, emphasized the need to strengthen the directorate's work in preparing athletes for international competitions, as well as in developing non-Olympic sports and supporting young talents.
Erkinbekov has begun his duties with a three-month probation period starting today. His responsibilities will include coordinating sports programs, organizing training camps, and preparing national teams for various regional and international tournaments.
The Directorate for Non-Olympic Sports is responsible for managing disciplines not represented at the Olympic Games, including popular sports among youth and new directions. This makes the position of director strategically important for the development of the sports sector in Kyrgyzstan.
