On February 23, the mayor of Osh, Janarbek Akayev, conducted a review of the activities of the company engaged in landscaping and greening. He emphasized that creating green spaces in Osh will be a top priority in 2026 and promised to intensify efforts in this direction. This was reported by the city’s press service.
Akayev stressed the need to start planting seedlings as soon as possible due to the early onset of spring and ordered the relevant services to work without weekends. Among the specific tasks is the planting of trees along Alimbek Datka and Navoi streets up to the bus station.
Additionally, the mayor announced plans to increase salaries for workers and called on institutions, developers, and residents to actively participate in the greening of the city, strengthening joint initiatives.
During the meeting, Akayev also inspected the greenhouse complex of the company and suggested developing local seedling production to reduce costs for purchasing plants from other regions and to support the city’s economy.
This year, it is planned to plant approximately 20,000 seedlings in Osh.
