Rita Karasartova filed a lawsuit against the GSIN. Response from the State Penitentiary Service of the KR
Recall that Karasartova claimed that during her detention, she was not given the opportunity to call her relatives, despite the fact that the law allows such calls lasting 15 minutes once a week.
In the official response, the GPS stated that the information voiced by Karasartova is not true. "Upon the arrival of accused individuals at pre-trial detention centers, they are informed of their rights, obligations, daily routine, and regime requirements, with a signature. We act in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and ensure the rights of the accused and convicted, ready to defend our position," the agency's statement reads.
The GPS also urged journalists, citizens, and relatives of the convicted to rely on official sources and not to disseminate inaccurate information.
It is worth noting that in September 2025, the Sverdlovsk District Court found Rita Karasartova guilty under Articles 278 "Mass Riots" and 327 "Public Calls for Violent Seizure of Power" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The court imposed a fine of 50,000 soms and five years of probation supervision.
Karasartova's defense appealed this decision in the city instance, but today the appellate panel upheld the verdict, meaning that the conditions of probation supervision and the penalty remain in effect.
