The State Penitentiary Service (GSIN) responded to the statement by Rita Karasartova, who filed a lawsuit against the leadership of the service and SIZO-1.
On February 19, Karasartova announced on her social media page that she had filed a lawsuit, claiming that inmates are unable to communicate by phone with their relatives, although this is provided for by law.

In response, GSIN stated that the facts presented by Karasartova do not correspond to reality.
“Upon entering the pre-trial detention centers of the penal system of the Kyrgyz Republic, the accused are informed of their rights and obligations, as well as the daily routine and regime requirements, which is confirmed by their signature,” emphasized GSIN.

Moreover, excerpts from the Internal Regulations of the pre-trial detention centers, approved by the government resolution of August 30, 2006, No. 631, are posted on the boards inside the cells where the inmates are located.

Regarding Rita Karasartova's lawsuit, GSIN notes that it conducts its activities strictly in accordance with current legislation and guarantees the observance of the rights of the accused and convicted, and is therefore ready to defend its position in court,” the official statement said.

In conclusion, GSIN urged citizens to rely solely on official sources of information.
