Defender of the Fatherland Day: Ak-Suu Veterans Call on Local Youth to Serve in the Military
This information was announced by Bolot Zhaiyloobaev, chairman of the veterans' council of the Batken war in this district.
According to Zhaiyloobaev, the goal of these events is to instill patriotism among students. They are provided with information about military service and armaments.
“Modern youth shows little interest in military service. We, representatives of the older generation, strive to show the right path and urge young people to be patriots. There is a course on basic military training in schools, but there is a lack of practical materials. Together with the military commissariat, we demonstrate samples of weapons to students in grades 9-11 and talk about service in the army. To date, we have visited six schools. It is encouraging that after practical classes, the students' views on military service change. Our task is for every citizen of Kyrgyzstan to become a patriot and to defend our people and our land as the apple of their eye,” noted B. Zhaiyloobaev.
