A film shot on a phone by a Kyrgyz director has entered an international competition

The film "Dream of Reason" is created in the noir genre and was shot on a smartphone in the village of Palana on the Kamchatka Peninsula. This place became the base for Talgar Zamir-Seit, who founded the creative association "KoryakFilm," which has become an important step in the development of auteur cinema in the region.

The work will be presented in the international program of the XIII Forum of Young Cinema "Umут," which will take place in Bishkek from March 4 to 7, 2026. The film will represent Kyrgyzstan, Japan, and Russia, alongside other participants from Armenia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kalmykia, Tatarstan, Azerbaijan, and Singapore.

The project was implemented with the support of "KoryakFilm" and "Besh-Tentek+Churek," involving the countries of Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Japan.

Talgar Zamir-Seit is a prominent figure in the world of auteur cinema in Central Asia, known as a film critic and director. He is the founder of "KoryakFilm" and co-founder of the projects Selkinchek and Seit_Critic, as well as a participant and laureate of various international film festivals, and the creator of several successful short films.
