She noted that the collection of applications from the population has already begun.
“This year, the quotas were allocated earlier than in previous years. Currently, we have received 16 applications, of which 14 have been approved by the working group for citizens with business plans. Currently, financial literacy classes are being conducted for these citizens. Last year, our city was allocated about 130 quotas, and we fully utilized them,” N. Jakypova reported.
- In Manas, more than 3000 low-income families are registered, among which 1137 are considered extremely poor.
The project "Strengthening Social Assistance Programs and the Labor Market," funded by the International Development Association (part of the World Bank Group) with a budget of 30 million dollars (loan), aims to mitigate the negative effects of the economic crisis affecting the purchasing power of families. It provides temporary assistance to families in difficult situations and also creates new jobs and income opportunities. The project also aims to strengthen the social protection system, which should enhance the effectiveness of assistance to target groups and expand employment opportunities for poor and vulnerable youth.
Funding is provided for 50 years at zero interest.
The social contract strategy targets low-income and needy families both in the republic and in the city of Bishkek (recipients of "uy-bulogo komok"). Social assistance is currently provided at 150,000 soms, whereas previously the amount was 100,000 soms.
