According to the information from the ministry, this point will contribute to enhancing road safety and will ensure compliance with weight and dimension regulations for freight vehicles. This, in turn, will help prevent premature deterioration of the road surface. The new initiative is also expected to reduce the volume of illegal and excessive transportation, improve the condition of road infrastructure, and strengthen order in the transport services sector.
In addition, a phased major overhaul of existing transport control points throughout the republic is planned, as they have not been updated for many years.
It should be noted that the funding for the mentioned construction and repair works will be provided from the Stabilization Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic.
