In 2025, more than 1.2 million people visited museums in Kyrgyzstan
At the ministry's board meeting on February 19, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Soyuzbek Nadyrbekov reported that last year the country's museums attracted the attention of more than 1.2 million visitors.
Four significant museums that were previously privately owned have been transferred to state ownership:
- The House-Museum of Alykul Osmonov, located in Bishkek;
- The Museum of Jusup Abdrakhmanov in the Issyk-Kul region;
- The Koshoy-Korgon complex in the At-Bashinsky district of the Naryn region;
- The Art Gallery of Askar Salymbekov in the Naryn region.
Currently, the process of transferring the museum of akyn Moldu Niyaz, located in the village of Ak-Kiya in the Kadamjay district, into state ownership is ongoing.
“For the first time, an open fund has been created in the 'Sulaiman-Too' museum complex, which simultaneously protects exhibits and serves to display them to the general public. Craft centers and four cultural and information centers for independent study and visits have been organized based on three major museums,” Nadyrbekov added.
The Deputy Minister also spoke about the "Month of Open Doors" campaign, which took place in all museums across the country last year. As part of this initiative, over 400,000 people visited the museums in just one month.
