The problem of domestic violence in Kyrgyzstan raises serious concerns among human rights defenders. Nazgul Turdubekova, director of the NGO "League of Child Rights Defenders," addressed President Sadyr Japarov, Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev, and Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Zhyldyz Taalaibek kyzy through social media, pointing out that the level of violence in families remains high.

According to the human rights defender, it is necessary to change the approach to combating domestic violence and make it part of state policy, shifting from reactive measures to prevention. She proposes to create a legislative framework for the work of an interdisciplinary team, which should include a lawyer, psychologist, and social worker.

"Currently, the focus in the fight against domestic violence is mainly on law enforcement agencies, which leads to the fact that actions are taken only after violence or even murder has occurred. This approach is unable to provide adequate protection and prevent repeated instances of violence," emphasizes Turdubekova.

The human rights defender proposes the following measures:

"This new model will create an effective prevention system, reduce the number of repeat instances of violence, improve the quality of judicial protection, and increase citizens' trust in justice," Turdubekova is confident.

This is an important step towards the real protection of human rights and families in the country.
