New records were also set in the Moscow region, where significant snowfall was recorded. In the area of the Prioksko-Terrasny Nature Reserve, 27 mm of snow fell, which is almost two-thirds of the monthly norm.
Due to the heavy snowfall, there were delays and cancellations of dozens of flights at Moscow airports, and traffic jams reached a level of 9 points on the roads. Nearly 250 trucks were freed from snow drifts.
It is worth noting that on January 10, Moscow also recorded a record snowfall for the past 50 years, with 42% of the monthly precipitation norm falling in just one day.
