Enhanced measures for ensuring passenger safety on the Bishkek—Kara-Balta highway
According to the press service of the Traffic Safety Department (UOBDD) of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui region, this highway runs through the territories of the Sokuluk, Moscow, and Jayil districts. In this regard, control over compliance with traffic rules has been tightened to enhance pedestrian safety.
In the Moscow district, where the traffic safety department is located, it has been noted that recently there has been an increase in cases where passengers stop vehicles in unauthorized places, ignoring designated stops.
“On the central Lenin street in the village of Belovodskoye, where the Bishkek—Kara-Balta road intersects with local streets, traffic lights have been installed and markings for pedestrians have been made. However, people heading to Sokuluk and Bishkek continue to wait for transport on the roadway, creating dangerous situations for both themselves and drivers. To address this issue, special raids are being conducted by inspectors, and measures to ensure passenger safety are becoming stricter,” the message states.
In addition, inspections are also focused on the technical and sanitary condition of vehicles. Drivers are given talks about the importance of adhering to traffic rules and safety precautions on the road.
