"I don't believe it". The mother of the mysteriously deceased doctor-girl from Bishkek is waiting for the investigation results
The tragedy occurred with Aigul Zibirova, a resuscitation doctor, who was found dead in her apartment in Bishkek. On the evening before her death, her ex-boyfriend was with her, who claims that the girl locked herself in the bathroom and took her own life. However, Aigul's relatives believe that there are too many inconsistencies in this version and demand a more detailed investigation. The girl's mother spoke about her last conversations with her daughter and possible harassment by her ex-boyfriend, which, in her opinion, requires close attention from the investigation.

“She was full of life and plans”

Roza Amuralieva, Aigul's mother, is convinced that her daughter could not have taken her own life. She recalls that the day before the tragedy, Aigul visited family in Tokmok, was cheerful and energetic, and congratulated everyone on the holidays.

“She had so many dreams and plans. She was going to work in Belarus. I can’t believe she could do this to herself,” Roza says.

On December 31, 2025, Aigul was working at the 3rd Children's Hospital in Bishkek and at the Emergency Medical Center. That night, she called her mother to wish her a Happy New Year, saying she had a lot of work and no time for a long conversation. On January 1, around noon, she contacted her mother again and said she was going home to rest. Aigul lived in the "Tunguch" microdistrict and planned to return to duty on January 2, and on January 3, meet with friends and bring her mother a gift from the event.

Ex-boyfriend under suspicion

According to Roza, on December 30, when Aigul was at her home, she constantly received calls from an unknown number and hung up on them. When her mother asked if her ex-boyfriend was stalking her, Aigul confirmed but said she could handle the situation herself. “I insisted that she go to the police. I urged her, saying that he had no right to threaten and disturb her. But she replied, ‘I’m 28 years old, Mom. I’m an adult. He won’t do anything bad,’” Roza recounts.

The girl’s death occurred on the night of January 1 to 2.

Inconsistencies in the circumstances

When Roza learned of her daughter's death, she hurried to the scene, but the apartment was locked, and police officers were inside. “I noticed that there were some things scattered in the apartment. His friends, at least I assume, were present there. I was not allowed in and was not allowed to see what was there,” she shares.

The investigation claims that Aigul hanged herself with a hairdryer cord attached to a radiator, but her relatives doubt this version. “There’s a sink nearby, the radiator is low, and it’s hard to imagine how this could have happened. Even if we assume she hanged herself, why didn’t he help? The doors were closed since she locked herself in,” the mother says.

Roza also noted that a strangulation mark was found on her daughter's body, the location of which raises doubts for her. “It’s hard for me to talk about this. The mark is here (points to her neck). If she had hanged herself, the mark should have gone upward. She was a heavy girl, weighing about 80 kg. Even if she had knelt down, how could she have hanged herself? I don’t understand. I hope for a fair resolution,” the mother added.

Lawyer's opinion

The family's interests are represented by lawyer Indira Soutova, who notes that the relatives have many questions for the investigation.

“The examination showed that the cause of death was asphyxia. But how could that happen? Could she have hanged herself on a radiator about a meter high? It’s strange that Aigul’s and her ex-boyfriend’s phones were formatted, all SMS deleted. Why was this done if the death was natural and she decided to take her own life?” Soutova emphasizes.

“Until all witnesses are interrogated, many circumstances remain unclear. There are bruises and abrasions on the deceased’s body, some of which occurred shortly before her death, and some a few days before the tragedy. We have many questions for which we are waiting for answers,” the lawyer added.

The family demands justice

Aigul's parents claim they have not received clear explanations regarding the case and intend to seek further investigation.

“For a mother, the most important thing is to get an answer. Whatever it may be. We need answers,” Roza Amuralieva summarized.
