Pancakes, bonfires, and round dances: all the places to celebrate Maslenitsa in Kyrgyzstan


In February, the Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan announced a program of mass celebrations for Maslenitsa, which will cover various regions of the country. Guests can expect traditional treats in the form of hot pancakes, colorful round dances, fun games, and the symbolic burning of the winter effigy. A complete list of locations and dates for the events has been compiled for the convenience of all participants.

The main festivities will begin in the south of the country, with the culmination of the holiday taking place next Sunday. Events will unfold in several cities and villages.

Here is the schedule and locations for the celebrations:

February 18 (Osh): 12:00 PM, Russian House, Bobulova St., 72. February 22 (Tokmok): 10:00 AM, Central Square, Sarbagyshev St., 80a (landmark - Central Library). February 22 (Bishkek): 11:00 AM, area in front of the Ministry of Culture and the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan (Pushkin St., 78). February 22 (Bishkek): 11:00 AM, "Karagachevaya Rosha" Park. February 22 (Kant): 11:00 AM, Central Square opposite the Akimat (Abdraimov St., 74). February 22 (Kara-Balta): 11:00 AM, Central Square near the V.I. Lenin Cultural Center (Lenin St., 2). February 22 (Leninskoye village): 11:00 AM, square near the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. February 22 (Osh): 12:00 PM, Alley of Friendship between Russia and Kyrgyzstan (landmark - Archangel Michael Church). February 22 (Belovodskoye village): 3:00 PM, Central Park.

In Bishkek, at Pushkin St., 78, the program will be particularly rich: creative groups "Souvenir," "Smile," and "Islamay" will participate. The organizers invite families to join the celebration to welcome spring together in an atmosphere of joy and friendship.
