The first "South Korea - Central Asia" summit will take place on September 16-17, 2026. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Cho Hyun, at a preparatory meeting held in Seoul, noting that this event will serve as a foundation for establishing a sustainable strategic partnership.

During the meeting in the capital of South Korea, leaders from five countries are expected to attend: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.

The key objective of the summit will be to expand diplomatic opportunities and significantly strengthen the ties between Seoul and the Central Asian regions. Participants plan to focus on diversifying supply chains and issues of economic security, which are extremely important given the current geopolitical situation.

The new format of discussions at this summit is aimed at transforming cooperation from individual initiatives to multilateral interaction, covering areas such as energy, technology, and logistics.
