On September 16-17, 2026, a historic summit will take place, bringing together the Republic of Korea and Central Asian countries. This was announced by Foreign Minister Cho Hyun at a preparatory meeting in Seoul.

Leaders from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan will participate in the summit, as reported by Yonhap.

The minister emphasized that this event will be a significant step towards expanding South Korea's diplomatic relations with Central Asia. He noted that the summit format will open opportunities for deepening bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as for developing strategies in areas such as supply diversification and support for Korean communities living in the region.

It is worth noting that Central Asian countries actively participate in various international summits, such as "USA - Central Asia," "European Union - Central Asia," and "Japan - Central Asia."
