Earthquake in Kazakhstan felt by residents of the Issyk-Kul region

On February 17 at 16:08 local time, the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan recorded an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 on the MSK-64 scale, which corresponds to a strength of about 5 points at the epicenter.

According to preliminary data, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in Kazakhstan, approximately 65 kilometers northeast of the village of Ananyevo and 70 kilometers from Almaty.

In various settlements of Kyrgyzstan, the intensity of the tremors was 3 points in the village of Ananyevo, while in the villages of Kara-Oy, Chon-Sary-Oy, Kurmenty, Temirovka, Taldy-Suu, Bosteri, and in the city of Cholpon-Ata — 2.5 points.
