Traffic has been temporarily halted at the Sosnovka and Aral checkpoints, and work is underway to eliminate the consequences.
On February 17 at 12:10, snow avalanches were recorded at two sections of the Chychkan gorge, located on the Bishkek–Osh highway. This led to the temporary blockage of the Sosnovka and Aral border crossings for all vehicles.
According to preliminary estimates, one of the avalanches is about 100 meters long and approximately 5 meters high. Specialized machinery has been brought in to address this issue, and the clearing is being carried out by the road maintenance enterprise No. 23.
Representatives of the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications reported that the work to eliminate the consequences is ongoing actively. New information will be provided later.
The Ministry urges drivers to follow safety rules and to understand the temporary road restrictions.
