According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications, on February 17, 2026, at approximately 12:10 PM, two avalanches occurred in the Chychkan gorge area on the Bishkek-Osh highway. This led to the introduction of temporary restrictions at the "Sosnovka" and "Aral" checkpoints for all types of vehicles.
According to initial data, the length of one of the avalanches is about 100 meters, and the height reaches 5 meters. Currently, road maintenance enterprise No. 23 is actively engaged in clearing the road using specialized equipment.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic continues to work on restoring traffic and advises drivers to adhere to safety measures, showing patience regarding the temporary restrictions. New information will be provided later.
