
In Bishkek, the First May District Court has decided to detain Eldar Jakypbekov, who previously headed the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) in Bishkek. This became known from a statement made by the "Kabar" agency, citing information from the court.
This decision was made at the request of the head of the interdepartmental investigative group and the head of the investigative department of the Military Prosecutor's Office.
Jakypbekov is accused of corrupt actions, which fall under part 1 of article 336 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. According to the court's ruling, he will remain in custody until April 15 of this year.
At the moment, the former head of the GKNB is in the detention center of the Bishkek City Police Department. It was previously reported that his detention was carried out with the participation of employees of the Military Prosecutor's Office.
