The agreement will simplify the process of returning citizens who are illegally in another country
Currently, a draft law regarding the ratification of the readmission agreement signed between Kyrgyzstan and Belarus on September 29, 2025, in Minsk, is being discussed in the Jogorku Kenesh.
This agreement will provide a simpler mechanism for the return of citizens who are illegally present in another country, as well as establish a procedure for the transit of individuals subject to expulsion, in accordance with international standards.
Additionally, this document will create conditions for deeper cooperation between the relevant authorities of both countries in the field of combating illegal migration.
The ratification of this agreement is part of the "roadmap" for Kyrgyzstan's accession to the Eurasian Economic Space, which includes Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia, and further expands the framework of international readmission agreements already concluded with Russia, Kazakhstan, and Switzerland.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, there are currently 654 citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Belarus.
