The agenda included discussions on new amendments to the Code on Non-Tax Revenues concerning the increase of fees for alternative service.
Tashiev questioned the necessity of raising these fees. A representative of the Ministry of Defense noted that the current rates were established in 2017, and since then, inflation has significantly changed the economic situation.
“Since 2017, the rates have not been reviewed. Back then, the average salary was 14,000 soms, and now it is 37,000 soms. Additionally, there are extra expenses for uniforms, food, and other needs that are not covered,” he explained.
Tashiev also expressed doubt about the effectiveness of alternative service if a full service term of 12 months is required for work in law enforcement agencies. The Ministry of Defense representative responded that such service is intended for those who, for family or medical reasons, cannot serve the full term.
Furthermore, it was previously reported that Deputy Shairbek Tashiev, the younger brother of Kamchybek Tashiev, was allegedly detained; however, this information was refuted in the Jogorku Kenesh. It was also clarified that Shairbek Tashiev is currently abroad from Kyrgyzstan.
