The epicenter was located in China, 34 km south of the village of Bedel, at a distance of 140 km from Karakol.
The depth of the tremors was only 8 km, which explains their intensity and the widespread feeling among the population.
Residents of cities such as Karakol, Balykchy, Cholpon-Ata, Naryn, and neighboring settlements felt the earthquake. Additionally, the tremors were noticeable in Almaty.
According to information from seismologists, the earthquake was not felt in Bishkek.
