Monetary Bonuses and Certificates of Honor: How Veterans of Afghanistan Were Congratulated in the Ak-Talinsky District
On February 15, a military-cultural event dedicated to this date took place in the district. The organizers were the Ak-Tal district state administration, the chairman of the veterans' council, and the instructor of pre-conscription training at the Shukurbek Beishenaliev secondary school, Sharshembek Murzabekov. The celebration was attended by veterans, representatives of the authorities, heads of local institutions, as well as teachers and students.
The Afghan veterans began with laying wreaths at the monument dedicated to the soldiers who died in Afghanistan and the Batken war, located in the village of Bayetov. After that, a prayer was read. Then, a military-cultural program prepared by Murzabekov took place at the Shukurbek Beishenaliev school. During the event, the children demonstrated their marching skills and ability to quickly assemble and disassemble a rifle, as well as presented a small concert.
At the end of the program, the veterans received congratulations from the district leadership, the heads of the rural administrations, as well as from the heads of institutions and representatives of public organizations. The Ak-Tal district state administration allocated 20,000 soms to the veterans, presented letters of appreciation and honorary certificates. The heads of the rural administrations also awarded cash prizes ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 soms to each veteran. In addition, some veterans received awards from the military commissariat.
A total of 51 servicemen from the Ak-Tal district participated in the Afghan war. One of them was killed, while 50 returned home alive. However, in the post-war years, 7 more veterans died from their injuries.
