The State Committee for National Security has completed an operation to dismantle an illegal pawnshop
The State Committee for National Security confirmed that the operation of an illegal pawnshop has been halted.
According to information from the security service, on February 12, 2026, a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic with the initials "A.A.T." was detained. He is accused of organizing illegal lending activities without the necessary licenses. It has been established that the suspect issued loans to citizens in difficult financial situations at inflated interest rates.
During searches, documents related to ten real estate properties were discovered.
The detainee was also found to possess a smoothbore firearm of the "Baikal" brand with ammunition, which, according to law enforcement, was stored in violation of the law.
At the moment, the suspect has been placed in the detention center of the SCNS. Investigations are underway to clarify all the circumstances of the case and potential accomplices.
