In Kyrgyzstan, the head of the Investigative Service of the Internal Affairs Department of the Kemin District, located in the Chui region, has been detained. According to information from the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of the Kyrgyz Republic, the officer, born in 1992, is suspected of abusing his official position during the investigation of a serious crime against the sexual integrity of a minor.
According to the SCNS, the criminal case in question is related to a group of suspects in a rape case. The forensic medical examination confirmed the guilt of all those detained. However, the investigation claims that the head of the investigative service decided to terminate the criminal prosecution against two of them, which led to their release from liability.
State security agencies state that he coerced the minor victim into giving false testimony to legitimize his decision to release the suspects.
The detention was carried out by SCNS officers in conjunction with the Ministry of Internal Affairs as part of the fight against corruption in law enforcement agencies.
According to the decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court of Bishkek, the suspect was placed in custody and sent to the SCNS pre-trial detention center.
Investigative actions are ongoing both against the detained official and in the case of the rape of the minor. The SCNS emphasized that all those involved in this crime will be held criminally accountable.
