The municipal enterprise "Tazalyk" has informed about the situation related to the shooting of dogs in the village of Novopavlovka, stating that actions were taken after numerous complaints from local residents and based on a decision by the administration of the Lenin district of Bishkek, as well as a telegram from MTU No. 106 dated February 11, 2026 (number 01-13/5).
According to information from the Bishkek mayor's office, there were about 30 dogs and more than 50 cats in a private house at the specified address, which significantly exceeds the permissible norms for keeping pets in the city (no more than 2 dogs and 3 cats per household).
Moreover, the animals did not have the necessary veterinary passports and documents confirming vaccination, which is a violation of existing regulations.
It is known that for a long time, employees of the MTU, law enforcement agencies, sanitary-epidemiological services, and veterinary services visited the site more than seven times. The citizen was repeatedly handed notifications and warnings about eliminating violations and the need to bring the keeping of animals in line with established rules.
During these activities, the citizen exhibited aggression and actively interfered with the work of the employees, intentionally releasing dogs towards them, which posed a threat to their life and health.
In response to the emerging threat, a forced measure was taken — the shooting of one dog that posed an immediate danger. Other dogs were not subjected to shooting.
It is also noted that the activities were not conducted in the presence of children or outsiders, as claimed in the video that circulated online.
The Bishkek mayor's office and the associated services acted in accordance with the law, ensuring sanitary safety, public order, and the protection of residents in the area.
