According to the Department of Road Safety under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region, starting from February 12, the air temperature has significantly dropped, and dense fog has caused serious difficulties. These adverse weather conditions have resulted in several problems:
- critical reduction in visibility – under foggy conditions, visibility on the roads has dropped to minimal levels.
- formation of ice – there is severe icing on the road surface, which creates difficulties for drivers.
- sharp frosts – the temperature continues to fall.
To avoid traffic accidents and ensure the safety of citizens, a decision has been made to temporarily restrict the passage of heavy vehicles at the Ötmäk pass, located on the Bishkek—Talas highway.
The police and emergency response services strongly urge drivers to exercise extreme caution and adhere to traffic rules in difficult weather conditions.
