In Kazakhstan, comedian Nurlan Saburov may be investigated under the article "Mercenarism"

The Deputy Attorney General of Kazakhstan, Galymzhan Koigeldiev, announced the possibility of investigating comedian Nurlan Saburov under the article "Mercenarism" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to him, the National Security Committee may initiate an investigation due to emerging information that the artist was providing assistance to Russian military personnel.

“The consideration of the issue regarding the investigation of Nurlan Saburov under the mercenarism article is the prerogative of the National Security Committee,” Koigeldiev noted.

Recently, a video appeared on social media claiming that Nurlan Saburov was providing assistance to the fighters of the "Wagner Legion Istra," which could be classified as a criminal offense in Kazakhstan.

It has been reported that activist Marat Turymbetov has appealed to the General Prosecutor's Office requesting an investigation into the video in which the comedian allegedly gifts equipment to Russian military personnel.

According to Article 170 "Mercenarism" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, this crime is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 7 to 12 years.

Additionally, it is worth noting that Nurlan Saburov has been banned from entering Russia for a period of 50 years.
