The situation with the shortage of emergency doctors in Bishkek has improved, achieving nearly a threefold reduction. This fact became known thanks to information provided by Iskender Shayakhmetov, the chief physician of the city’s Emergency Medical Center.

Shayakhmetov noted that in 2025, a presidential decree increased salaries for emergency doctors in Bishkek and Osh, as well as for surgeons, pediatricians, and specialists working in remote areas.

“Previously, 98 out of 210 vacancies remained unfilled, but after the salary increase of 20,000 soms, this number has decreased to 32. Thus, the shortage of doctors has significantly reduced,” he added.

It is worth reminding that on December 25 of last year, at the People’s Kurultai, the president announced an increase in salaries for educators and medical workers starting from April 1.

It was also previously reported about plans to increase the staff of the Emergency Medical Center.
