The chief physician of the Capital Emergency Medical Center, Iskender Shayahmetov, noted that after the salary increase, the shortage of emergency medical doctors in Bishkek has significantly decreased.
According to him, in 2025, by presidential decree, salaries were raised not only for emergency doctors in Bishkek and Osh but also for surgeons, pediatricians, and medical specialists working in remote areas.

“Previously, out of 210 medical positions, 98 remained unfilled, but after the salary increase of 20,000 soms, the number of vacancies has decreased to 32. This is a significant achievement — the shortage of doctors has become much less,” he reported.

Shayahmetov also added that a new salary increase for all medical workers in the country is expected on April 1, amounting to 100%.
