The transfer took place in the Batken region


On February 11, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) transferred road machinery and equipment worth 700 million yen to Kyrgyzstan. The ceremony marking this event took place in Batken, according to information provided by the agency.

This assistance was provided under the "Project for Improving Equipment for the Maintenance of Roads and Road Surfaces in Batken Region."

Officials present at the ceremony for the grant aid included the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic, Ryuichi Hirano, the permanent representative of JICA in the country, Kotaro, the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, Beknazar Bazaraliyev, the authorized representative of the President in the Batken region, Aibek Shamenov, and others.



The received equipment and machinery will assist in the maintenance and surfacing of roads in the Batken region, which, according to experts, will positively impact the economic development of the region and the entire republic, noted JICA.
