Today, at the meeting of the permanent commission of the Bishkek City Council, which deals with issues of municipal property and land management, Deputy Kazybek Ergeshov raised the problem of rising rent prices in municipal markets.
He noted that many entrepreneurs and traders express dissatisfaction with the increase in rental costs.
“We must support small and medium-sized businesses, not create additional difficulties for them. Instead, we are raising tariffs and taxes. Even when the 'Oberon' market was in private hands, its owners tried to reduce the rent by 50%, but instead, you decided to increase it. Does the market even bring profit?” — the deputy questioned.
According to representatives of the municipal enterprise “City Road and Transport Infrastructure,” the rent in municipal markets has increased by 20%.
“This change occurred as a result of negotiations aimed at further developing the markets. For example, 'Dordoy' raised prices by 40%, and 'Alkan Bazaars' by 20%,” — added one of the officials.
Kazybek Ergeshov reported that the commission has prepared an appeal that will be sent to the antimonopoly authority and the Ministry of Economy for a review of the current tariffs.
“This is unacceptable. We cannot treat entrepreneurs this way. It is necessary to reconsider the terms of land rent,” — he concluded.
