The Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic, in collaboration with the World Bank, has launched a program called "Youth Internship," which provides employers with the opportunity to attract young people aged 16 to 35.
According to information from the Ministry of Labor, this initiative is aimed at professional training in relevant specialties: program participants undergo short-term training, after which they are sent for internships in various organizations and companies operating in different sectors of the economy — both private and public.
For employers, the program offers a number of advantages:
● the ability to shape young specialists for specific tasks of the company;
● reduced costs for searching and adapting new employees;
● access to motivated youth with basic skills;
● the opportunity to evaluate interns before their official employment.
It is important to note that during the internship, the government pays a stipend of 8,600 soms per month, and a stipend for the training period is also provided for future employees.
The program covers 30 pilot cities and regions of Kyrgyzstan. Employers interested in participating can contact local employment services to apply and receive further information about the participation process. Applications can also be submitted online.
The goal of the project is to develop the professional skills of youth, support employment, and strengthen the local labor market, which contributes to mutually beneficial cooperation between employers and young specialists.
