Guns Against Avalanches: 130,000 Cubic Meters Released on the Bishkek - Osh Road
According to the plan, the artillery forces of the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan have marched to areas prone to avalanches and begun work on the controlled release of snow masses. This also concerns the important highway Bishkek — Osh.

The military deployed their equipment and weapons on the dangerous slopes of the mountains, conducting targeted fire at snow cornices. This approach allows for the early release of excess snow, thereby reducing the risk of blockages on key transport routes in the country.

According to the agency, over 130,000 cubic meters of snow have already been released, and by April, this volume is planned to be increased to more than one million cubic meters.

These activities are carried out in cooperation with experts from the avalanche service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, who annually conduct a comprehensive program for the controlled release of avalanches on the main mountain sections of roads in the country during the winter period.
