At the age of 99, Ormon Dadazhanov, the last veteran of the Great Patriotic War residing in the Nooken district, passed away. This information was disseminated by the "Slavic Diaspora" association in the Jalal-Abad region.
Ormon Dadazhanov was born on June 5, 1926, in the village of Masy, located in the Nooken district. He is survived by a large family: one son, six daughters, 28 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren.
From March 1945 to April 1950, he served as a cavalryman in military unit No. 1249 of the 26th cavalry regiment. After completing his service, from the 1950s to the 1980s, Dadazhanov worked as a welder in his native village of Masy.
As of today, there are only two veterans of the Great Patriotic War remaining in the Jalal-Abad region: 100-year-old Murza Daliev from the Bazar-Korgon district and 101-year-old Mamasaly Dzhumaev from the Suzak district.
Additionally, there are several former prisoners of concentration camps living in the region: one in Manas, one in the Aksy district, three in the Bazar-Korgon district, and one in the Nooken district.
