According to him, within the framework of the project, 30 individuals were released, six of which were equipped with sensors. This allows scientists to track their movements.
“We conduct regular monitoring. Currently, the animals have divided into four small groups. All of them are alive and healthy, and no losses have been recorded. The ecological police constantly patrol this area. We also hold meetings with local residents to emphasize the importance of protecting these animals,” noted Davletbakov.
In the enclosure, according to him, there are 40 individuals remaining (the breeding stock). About 15 of them are separated from the main group and are being prepared for release into the wild in spring, depending on the success of breeding.
It was previously reported that a zoological reserve "Djeiran Ordo" is planned to be created on Issyk-Kul, covering an area of about 18,000 hectares.
A petition for the creation of the reserve with scientific justification has already been submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision. This agency confirmed that the matter is under consideration.
